Black Angus Houston's Premiere Ultimate Club Team |
We are a men's only Houston-area Ultimate club team. We travel to several tournaments throughout the country and also compete in the UPA's Fall Series. Our goals are to build and sustain a competitive team and to provide a venue for high level play for Houston's ultimate players. Because we have two squads (Black Angus and Red Brangus), we do not make cuts: everyone plays. We do, however, use practices and tournaments during the first half of the season to determine rosters for the fall series. If you are interested in playing with us, please e-mail the captains about coming to practices, particularly if you have prior experience.
Ultimate is a competitive non-contact team sport played worldwide by hundreds of thousands of people. The object of the game is to score points by passing the disc into the opposing end-zone. Ultimate combines the athleticism of soccer and football with the agility and finesse of basketball and golf. Ultimate is characterized by its "Spirit of the Game" - the principles of fair play, sportsmanship, and the joy of play. For a more complete description of Ultimate, visit some of the sites on our links page.
Black Angus practices during the summer, starting late April. Many of our members also practice at various pickup games held weekly. For more infomation please contact the captains or visit our links page for local pick-up information.
